Arhus, Denmark to Odense, Denmark
11 July
I didn't take any pictures on this day. It was the first day in a while where we didn't have rain, but that was about the only thing that went right. This was another day that started with us taking a train, from Arhus to Fredricia in this case. However, for reasons that still aren't clear to me, we weren't able to get a train out of Arhus until a little after noon. Stephannie was still sick, so she was going to take another train from Fredricia to Odense and not ride at all. I was going to ride from Fredricia over the bridge onto Fyn and then follow the train route toward Odense. When I decided that I had ridden enough, I would take the train the rest of the way into Odense.
At the Fredricia train station, I lingered for two or three minutes to make sure that Stephannie was able to catch her train. Tim, our coodinator for the Denmark portion of the trip, had already taken off when I was ready to leave, so I rode out of Fredricia on my own. After two hours of riding in circles south of Fredricia (with a brief break for lunch), I was unable to find my way to the bridge to Fyn. I rode back to the Fredricia train station, and took the train to Odense. That night we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. The Danish take on Italian food was interesting in an anthropological sense, but it certainly wasn't good. All of the pasta dishes, and there were at least a dozen, had bacon in them--no primveras here.
